Isabel Maya is a board-certified Physician Assistant currently working as a Sub-Investigator at Hollywood Dermatology and Cosmetic Specialists. She plays an active role in supporting clinical research while delivering evidence-based dermatologic care to patients. During her time at FSU, she worked as a research assistant under Dr. McQuerry from 2019 to 2022. Isabel assisted Dr. McQuerry in conducting over 150 body scans at national conferences in Washington State and Orlando for the development of female firefighter gear. Additionally, under Dr. McQuerry’s mentorship, Isabel was awarded both the Phi Eta Sigma and AATCC Research Awards for her work in analyzing the physiological effects of compression gear on American collegiate and professional football athletes. This went on to be published in the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists research journal in 2024.
